Dear Reader, as we prep for the onset of the inevitable third wave, a mention of our forever altered mental states becomes impending. 

The repeating pandemic waves, the resulting unending months of lockdown and isolation and the havoc wreaked all around us in the form of lives lost has left all of us with an altered state of mind. The endless work hours (the crevices filled up with house work), the limited social lives and the curbed life styles were bound to take their toll.

While the situation looks grim, I can see the bright side here - the suddenness of the past year has brought the topic of mental health to the centre stage. 

Dear Reader, lo and behold, this edition is coming to you straight from the ICU along with a confirmation that while covid is bad, the post covid complications are for real and they are ugly. So, keep the mask up and get vaccinated. To keep my mind off the morbidity surrounding me, I decided to focus on something positive for this week's note. And money talk always seems to elevate the mood. So let's begin..

Remember the time when VCs would not entertain founders if they were not making 6 figure revenues or didn't have 7 figures customer base? All that seemed to have changed, with large (typically Series A) VCs like Sequoia and Tiger chasing more and more early stage startups.

Dear Reader, This past week I read an anecdote about Alexander and his three last wishes. We all know how he was one of the greatest conquerors across the seas. He conquered many lands from Greece to India, all by the age of 30. But then, at 32, he fell very sick and the best doctors couldn’t cure him.
